why so low on the SteamDB charts?

Why is this game getting lower and lower on the SteamDB charts? even Overwatch 2 remains in the top 30-20, while The Finals hangs in 100-90 places. I've played it for about 40 hours and I can say that the game deserves more.

there isint enough to do and ranked mode isint competitive enough to grind.

devs are real slow to change anything. works for bigger games but the finals is still a new game. so slow changes are working against it. especially since alot of changes people want are just value changes to things.

people just dont find objective based games fun. everyone wants a TDM and bank it isint cutting it.

balance is good... for high level players. for everyone else everything is gonna seem like its out to lunch tbh.
which also leads to a hard time for players actually even getting into the game.

its a bunch of little things that are keeping people away the gameplay itself is great. everything around it not so much.

Devs are having a hard time with player retention. Like the guys above say, objective game modes don't appeal to everyone, most ppl want tdm.

I'll tell you why. It's not because "there isnt anything to do" or "its objective based no one likes that". It's because when the game had 200k players, the cheating problem was just as bad as it is now. Ontop of that, for MONTHS we told the devs after 4 BETAS, to nerf and buff the things that were destroying the game. We lost over 50% of the players during the "Nuke" meta after we told them to remove it for months. Turns out, people dont like being instakilled. So you can cope and say its because you're a 150IQ player and its only because the game has a cashout that the game is failing or you can accept the truth that the devs are not doing anything to help the cheating situation and balance situation.

if you get to gold or above almost each round exists a cheater or more,ruining the whole game.Some of them even survive to diamond without being banned.Also the weapons are weaker,the whole experience is way less exciting then it was in November.

Because in an objective based game you have class that is terrible at any sort of objective and exists just to get kills, if you don't play that class you're going to be frustrated by your inability to prevent being killed and if you do play that class you won't be able to win any matches.

Also tons of players that don't care about an objective they just want kills, but there's no kill-based gamemodes so they ruin your matches instead.

Probably because of Ranked. It sucks winning 2 tournaments and possibly not even promoting to the next Tier of Gold, Silver etc. Even worse when 1 loss 1st round sets you back further than 1 tournament win.

and once you get progression rewards maxed you don't unlock anything else really unless you are grinding contracts for the Circuits. People want stuff to earn

the game is awesome in the beginning and worth a try for everyone since its even f2p. But the longer you play the more you might be frustrated depending on your skill level or tactical skill level.

Basically its much fun, ranked is a total mess for example, ruining the long time fun for players. MAtchmaking is horrible and gets worse and worse with its shrinking playerbase. People claim to meet cheaters everywhere but most time its just a skill issue i think...

And thats the reason, if you cant provide some nice long term motivation aka a good and fair ranked mode or some other progression people will get bored. They will get frustrated cause of loosing all the time, solo queue is like hoooorible, and in the end. they leave.
Short peaks when new seasons start and thats it...bye bye, sad cause i loved this game in the beginning when it came out

Although I really like this game,
- lack of maps
- plague of cheaters
- constant nerfs to the things that made this game unique and fun, chasing some dream of perfectly balanced esport that will never materialize
- meta getting boring (see above point)


They need to optimize for FUN.

I am not simping for embark when I say this, but cheating in FPS games is uncounterable at the moment, anyone who hides it and doesnt download the first free cheat they find will never be banned. They wont say this themselves because it looks bad obviously. Thats why this game is so fun actually even if someone is hacking it doesnt really matter unless theyre raging

It's one of the best FPS games, but it has major issues. The #1 issue is cheating. Embark leadership is not involved with the community or gaming communities at all, the game is now a byproduct of a free-to-play cosmetics business. They don't care to do anything beyond subscribing to EAC and bundling it with the game, and just making it more aggressive to the point where it detects Ableton Live and AutoHotKey but not most cheats. A problem which games that successfully manage cheaters don't have.
