It was a neat lil off brand shooter, but there are thousands of those.
I don't know the player numbers this game got, but I doubt it was anything near to what the finals had at release. And it's one of the most generic feeling games I have ever played. There was NOTHING unique about it. The movement was pretty nice and it's not that I say it was a really bad game, but it should really be no surprise at all, that this game died quickly.
It was just a very generic death match shooter where it seemed like last minute they decided to make it a br game too so they added a bigger map that shrinks. What they didn't take into account is, that a br game needs a lot of different weapons and gadgets etc, so looting can be an actual thing. With only 5 weapons and 5 gadgets or what ever it had in the whole game, everyone would just find their favored kit within the first minute of the game and that's it for looting...
The death match was the best thing about the game, but of course that becomes very repetitive very quickly. Like I don't know anything about the devs, but I'm sure they themselves didn't think their game has the potential to become the next big thing. The finals had and still actually has that potential. Those games don't play in the same league at all and thus comparing them doesn't make sense. very different reasons for failure too. Hyper scape just had no unique concept and no content.
