My name changed for no reason

It changed from Staufackar to Epicrock. Does anyone have any idea why that happened?
Edit: It seems to be a problem with my name, for some reason they see Staufackar as...well you know.
Screw it, i changed it to BetterCallStau.

yea they changed the naming system to be your embark id instead of steam name, u can change the name on their website.

Scammers. They force us to sign up to their auth service with email to get it back. I've paid money to this game and they just yank away my username?

they warned everyone in the patch notes like 2-3 weeks ago and there's been a panel with the news on the main menu for just as long. Just go to the website and change it. I'm surprised so many people haven't done this a long time ago, you have to go there to link your account for any of the free rewards or the quest they did. My embark name has been the same as my steam account since beta.

but i want my name i use on steam and no i cant change it to it since they dont allow the signs i wanna use + my name becomes to long for their ♥♥♥♥

I tried to place back the same name i have for steam but it said "invalid name, try another".
