What is this new ranking system?

I played a tourny yesterday, won it, got 3 up arrows. Played another, won a round and lost the next and now im back to a single up arrow. Does this game really think 2 tourny wins in a row is the only way to rank up? I solo queue so this is nearly impossible. What a stupid way of doing ranks. fix this ♥♥♥♥.
