coop tag

I'm curious because this game was recommended to me because of the co-op tag. As far as I was aware, this is a pvp shooter? Why does it have a co-op, which usually means player versus environment in my experience, tag on it?

PVE and COOP are 2 separate terms. It's coop because you can play with up to 4 other friends against others.

so then why isn't it that every game that you play with friends against others labeled as co-op? the literal definition of a cooperative video game is a video game that allows players to work together as teammates, usually against one or more non-player character opponents (PvE). Co-op games can be played locally using one or multiple input controllers or over a network via local area networks, wide area networks, or the Internet. is there a coop mode your group of friends just fight bots or is it just pvevp (which isnt coop either)

That tag is definitely out of place. It's not a coop game.

technically that would be local co-op. I think they just tagged it as coop because it's a very team oriented game (something most lights don't realize lol). But yes coop in my experience usually means a single-player style game that you can play with friends, but I think it still fits here.

It's not co- op only because you have team mates. that is NOT what co- op means or ever meant. It's a wrong tag just like this game also is not a battle royal game either but has/ had the br tag. Pretty much every single fps multiplayer game would be labeled co- op if it would only mean that it's a team game where you can cooperate.

The only difference between "PvE" and "Co- op" is single player vs multiplayer, but both means you fight against "the environment"/ bots.
