Why is everyone I match with so high level?

I can keep up well, and get decent kills per match, but everyone is level 40-60 while I'm just level 14...
Does this game just not get new players anymore?
Is there some kind of exp boost I don't know about?

Game has no player growth. Last up trend was in March.
So very few new players and by the way some of those are moving/shooting, I think many of them are smurfs.
Level doesn't mean anything tho, you don't get anything other than Skins. So don't feel frustrated.

also, the ranking system to matchmaking has been inexistent since forever as most of the people that play ranked stated since ever.

That is what's demoralizing me more and more. I'm kind of a new player and returned for this season with a longass break (only played in the 1st season for a bit).
I have trouble actually keeping up, everyone's a sweaty pro. I bet that's the experience for all the new players nowadays which is ass lol.
Does this game actually have some kind of a sbmm??

Same, I also only played first season for a bit as well.
Before taking a long break playing other games, and coming back recently.
I can pretty barely keep up, but everyone else definitely has way more experience.
Still have fun with the occasional win, but the game is very intense and I find that I get tired and stop playing after a few short matches.

The Game is just very badly put together. I'll give some examples just from my time last night. The new Bow Weapon has broken hit boxes, saw my teammate clearly aim about 2 meters to the left and he still hit the enemy full on, meanwhile other weapons have ghost bullets. Trying to vault over a wooden beam that is right in front of me impossible since it's fallen down and is now "broken" and cannot be faulted unless you find the perfect spot. Then you have zoomy lights that ZIP ZAP left to right and hit every shot on you from 50 meters. Colorful maps where you can't see anything. It's a neat game for what it is but eh, this is one of the game that can make you feel old playing it.
But then again this is online gaming and learning or being bad is not allowed or you suck.

no sbmm in casual modes

I'd used to recommend ranked so you can play people around your own skill lvl, but they ruined ranked this season. Powershift, bank it, and quickcash are the best for new players.
