Good APS change. Two weapons finally viable for ranked tournament and for everything else.
Players (me included) had proposed this change for 6 months.
Two weapons, heavy & medium grenade launcher, were not viable - basically useless -, for the skilled/experienced playerbase in ranked tournament (platinum/diamond matches), and all because one gadget (APS) hard-countered both of them.

The fact that you developers knew this for 6 months and didn't do anything, despite having all the database queries and statistics, shows that all of you either are
- mostly incompetent
- or the usual lack of money from Nexon

It wasn't even a case of protecting the casuals/beginners/noobs in casual matches and balancing for them. The weapons were already the weakest even in that cases.

No, both are weapon are still one of the weakest for heavy & medium at this higher end of skill/experience, but at least they are now situationally viable and have use.
And no, the APS didn't become useless now. It's still good and has it's meaning, especially if the opponent team has 1 - 2 heavies in it.


The best change now is that the strongest meta of HHM or MMH, were people use the most viable tactic of placing an APS behind a well placed barricade, has now finally a viable way to play against.
There was mostly no effective way to outplay this (shoot the APS down) as experienced players would've placed the APS and barricade too well, which resulted most of the time in a stall; one or both teams "turtled in",, slowing the game down to, making it a boring gun fight.
Any attempt to either shoot the APS down was either impossible due to positioning, timing etc. or in case one tried to shoot down the APS, one got shot down while trying to do so (in the time one tried to shoot it down, one would get shot down, as it basically takes 1 second or less at those platinum/diamond matches), obviously a very bad trade (trading APS for a player).


There are still two other options to balance/tweak the APS.
1) APS should only negate one object (rocket, grenade, grenade launcher, arena carriables etc.) every 1.5 - 2 seconds. All game play things and scenarios included, this should give grenade launcher players enough time, breathing rooms and strategy, to at least take down the APS in 4 - 5 seconds without getting fragged in 1 - 2 seconds infight by good and experienced opponents (especially in 3vs3 fights were one gets fragged in 1 - 2 seconds)
OR
2) APS has a set amount of objects to negate, for example 5, in a spam of e.g. 25 seconds, then it will become inactive (inactive timer).
If another APS is ready to swap out the current one, the inactiver timer should be considered.

And the usual note for the casuls/beginners/noobs playing casual matches:
Skill issue. Git gud.
No, the APS hasn't become useless; even in powershift.

Now even casuls/beginners/noobs have to at least do some effort in powershift game mode, do more than shooting around without any plan or tactics, positioning, movement or teamplay.

1) It's now less working, standing on the platform, being able to turn the brain almost off and rely on one single gadget to safe one's butt ...

1.1) especially saving butts of a complete team

2) You will now have to switch focus constantly, on the surrounding and opponents, actively looking for incoming grenades or rockets

3) have to consider smartly jumping off the platform when seeing an incoming grenade, and then smartly jumping back in, once in a while


All too much too ask for, right?
Either "git gud" or,
go on make plenty threads on forums because some grenade are fragging you now more oftenly.

That silly manipulative argumentation, calling other players "nade spammers" now, is pathetic.
Throwing a well placed grenade takes more effort than low effort shooting with a hitscan automatic rifle and that little bit of recoil control.

APS change is good? I ragequit now this fu game because they make from APS a piece of crap and powershift is now a grenade launcher fest lol. GZ embark and all of you have fun with this sht

But to the point, let me provide some arguments. They turned APS into completely unusable junk in any mode of the game. I used it to prevent them from destroying walls for cash out, for example. Now APS destroys the outer side, then the wall, and finally noobs with CL-40 just spam grenades into the room. The same goes for Power Shift. Previously, they had to think, but now that mode is a festival for grenade launchers. In fact, you can just stand on the roof and shoot indefinitely, as you do when you’re a proper noob. The fact that APS now consumes 3 out of 4 grenades is absolutely irrelevant. It’s a team game, and you should use your team. Skilled APS players (not noobs like you, according to what you wrote here) were able to destroy APS before. It was harder, but they managed it. Similarly, a CL-40 user could utilize their team to remove an enemy from the APS AOE effect and then kill them, or a teammate could destroy APS with a regular weapon. We could say the same about the Dome Shield. If you all learned to play the game instead of complaining, there would be more players now, including casuals and noobs like you, who have completely discouraged and ruined the game for us fans. Because instead of listening to experienced players, EMBARK caters to newbies.

If you were unable to play against an APS with a grenade launcher in a cashout mode, you're just bad. I'm D4 and it's honestly just easy to counter, just position your aim if you're using a grenade launcher, and position your throw if you're using a grenade. The aps change still counters normal grenades, so the only thing it does now is encouraging braindead Grenade launcher plays for medium and heavy. I think intruducing a cooldown mechanic would have been better, like destroying 4 projectiles and then it has a 5-10 seconds of cooldown before destroying any more nades.

Now I have to pick up and set down the aps over and over again to prevent its health from draining since im the only player on my team that ever uses it even though its vital in power shift.

Any change brings some other problems. The game was fine as it released the first time. It's going downhill.

Yup.
I agree. She grabbed me from the beginning and was great. Well, with every nerf, the game stops being fun. APS nerf was the last straw for me. Hopefully they will improve it over time and I will install the game back.

the explosion radius of cl-40 is bigger than the aps range, shoot just outside of its range to damage the aps turret. claiming ur plat/diamond but not knowing this?
