Actually had a game last night where we did in fact push all the way.
Pushing all the way into the end zone results in an instant win, without having to run down the timer.
I did not know that. I also got the Scotty achievement in that game as the opposing team basically did not even manage to kill us. We ran into the platform at the start, and held it all the way.
i knew that it gives you an instant win the more problem that i have with it is that there are games where u get it like right next to the end point just for the enemy team to push it back to the middle at the last second for you to lose
Yeah but I mean that's fair. If they win, they held it longer than you did. I don't think it moves any different in either direction. So they had more players on it for more of the match, and trickled back down your money count to 0$ and then dragged it over the line.
I also notice the way overtime works is you don't insta win unless you control the platform. So if you're -10,000$ when the timer hits 0:00, a 4 minute overtime starts and lasts until you manage 1000$ or the opposing team reclaims control.
yeah for OT i just wish they made it so the other team had to push it just as far into your area as you pushed it into theirs. kinda like how overwatch 2 does it
Same thing for the problem OP mentioned. It does suck yeah, but everything you can do to fix that, will just make the game feel even more generic. Like if it was changed to what you propose, then there would always be a point in the game where you know, that the enemy can not possibly earn more money than you already earned in the remaining time and thus you know the game is already decided, even though there are still 2minutes left on the clock. It's pretty much like that already, but at least there's still the sudden death mechanic which allows you to win a game you'd otherwise already have lost..
They should have just cloned the apex legends Christmas event mode where you need to hold the train. THAT was a good game mode that would never get boring and it would work so well in this game too.
ohh honestly i havent even thought about that event in ages i do think that would be fun if it was put into this game.
honestly i think this game mode just has a ton of problems they could start by giving it its own maps that would help a lot. like making spacial maps just for this game mode bc like u said the current maps they are using were not made for this mode.
i think the main problem they have is that they just quickly put in this game mode that they clearly copied from over watch but forgot to add all of the balancing things that overwatch made for that game mode.
like dynamic spawns that change with the objects lactation
custom maps
a system that marks where the object was on the map and requires the other team to literally push it farther than the first team to win
Didn't play overwatch so I can't say if that mode there is actually any good or if it could work well in this game too, but yeah, if you copy something, at least do it right. (No problem in copying good stuff)
Pretty sure there ARE dynamic respawns depending on how far the platform is away though. It doesen't help much though. You still spend half the game running towards the platform and like I said, fixing that would cause other problems, so I really don't know about the general concept of the game mode, but if you guys say it works well in another game, maybe I'm wrong.
