Yes, it's just a game, but this psychology extends into your real life and shapes who you are and will become. If you never quit, you can never be truly defeated.
You're not winning if you're down a player unless your opponents are completely brain dead. The way this game is designed makes it very difficult to engage in multiple fights due to how long it takes to kill opponents.
On very few occasions you can win without two teammates, and, in those cases, you can tell from the very first moment. When I want to leave a match I do not quit or give up, it's so I don't waste time till the next match
