That is pretty annoying and unfair. Some players only play the game as team death match and ignore the objective.
Yup I have seen that, what's even worst is if YOUR OWN team is playing for Deathmatch only and you try to do objective.
Happened to me today I was trying to capture the cash but my teammate purposely threw a pyro grenade at me multiple times to kill me so he could run around killing people. It is so damn annoying, his name was Salty or Sulty I believe.
Having to run for a mile after you respawned is just low.
They've got a point about going to the vault first. Unless you've got a turtle team comp there's no reason to be the one to unlock it because another team is going to come try to take it, if you're lucky 2 teams try to take it and fight each other. Most pub games are going to give you team mates that don't have the right class setup to lock down an area for that long.
I agree that spawning so far away from the objective on such large maps feels bad, but again it applies to everyone. And it helps ensure that the assault on any given objective isn't constantly a giant ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of all 3/4 teams engaging at once.
Also...
So which one is it? Is the game unfair to defense or offense?
Step 1
You wait for the objective to be at 40-60% cap.
Step 2
You throw all your gas/fire on the spot.
+ Bonus points for noob tubing (we're doing that currently) with all 3 of us spamming grenade launcher on the spot.
Step 3
You run in and finish the last 1-2 player and cap
Step 4
Your grenades and mines are off cooldown by the time the enemy team is respawning
= you place all the mines and fire grenades on the objective
Step 5 You Win
You win because there is nothing in the game that help against gas/fire dot damage + grenade launcher spam.
There is zero skill involved, and we know it is dumb but if the game lets you do it then why not abuse the mechanics. It is such an obvious flaw it is laughable
This might work on noobs, but not on smarter teams or in ranked. A lot of players stay away from the objective and go on the offence until enemies are close
