Does this game need shift button?
For what purposes? Why can't we just always run? I've just played quite a few games, and my little finger was sticked to the shift for a whole session. Are there any purpose to move not fast?

Yeah, being in a fire-ready state vs having to bring your gun up to shoot.

You need to walk sometimes, okay?

Also class balance is sort of baked in this way too. People crying about heavies are people who don't take time to headshot. Or can't.

you gotta walk sometimes + u need shift running to allow for sliding and crouching separately

an option to reverse sprint and walk would do it.

I would say that the shift function is needed, yes.

Why don't you just remap the shift/run button in combination with your W key so that you run automatically, you might need 3rd party software for it tough.

Also you should turn on toggle for shift if you haven't already so there's less to complain about

Shatterline had permanent sprint and that felt awful.

Titanfall 2 had permanent sprint but it suited Titanfall 2's fast paced wall-running kinetic nature. The Finals is still fast paced, but with some of the sit still and hold objective type gameplay I can see why they don't have an auto-sprint.

I'm not complaining, I'm just seeing, that walking in this game is kinda useless, but maybe it's a lack of experience. We will see.

straight up i looked for a sprint toggle in the menu for like 10 mins before being kinda shocked that there wasn't an option considering my pinkie finger is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ glued to it

There is a sprint toggle, but it's a bind-able input below the sprint input rather than a box to check

The game doesn't have great sound detection systems, but it's there. And part of it is influenced by walk/run speed
