recently got banned due to having cheat engine on the background

hey...so i usually use CE in order to speed up some of my offline games (mostly rpgs , as they are too slow and my attention span is too limited) and i think i kind of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up by leaving the software running on the background and starting the game yesterday.
their anti cheat software detected CE and told me that an unauthorized software was detected so i simply turned it off and got to log to the game and play normally
but today i tried logging in and my account got banned hehe.....
is there any chance to get unbanned ? i do realize running CE while a multiplayer game is running is hella stupid but it was an honest mistake nothing else...

contacted support through the embark website , just asking around to see if there's anyway for it to be fixed or if i'm actually f'd

lowkey you did this to yourself lol. tbf cheat engine prob wouldnt work but it is what it is so try and contact support and see if they agree

I'd like to think it wouldn't even do anything if it's just running in the background.
However, if it was attached to the game, that's a different story.

How exactly do you assume anti cheats work?

You're not wrong, but in order for cheat engine to work, it needs to attach to programs.
If it's not attached, it can't modify things.
Not defending cheating, but OP shouldn't be banned for having a program open that's not doing anything.

I don't think anyone responding actually knows how cheat engine works. For a multiplayer game to detect it as cheat software is braindead.

If cheat engine can actually cheat your multiplayer game, it is designed HORRIBLY.

That's my thoughts as well, the TOS specifically says USING software. That does leave room for interpretation, but in this context I'd imagine USE as actually messing with files/code. That being said, I did the same thing OP. Was giving myself components in cyberpunk earlier in the day and just forgot I had the program open. It sounds stupid, but it is kinda unusual for them to ban you simply for having the program running. At least, I've never seen it before and that's probably why I didn't even think about it. Submitted a ticket and hoping for the best, I really like this game ;(

I'm also really fond of the game so it's kind of a bummer having it as the first game i ever get banned from like ever (except club pinguin but we dont talk about that)
