If you want to call out a weapon I would say Grenade launchers 100% the worst weapon
(I use heavy's for fun and only seen like 2 heavies use-1x in game and 1x on youtube and yet to see a single medium ever use theirs, even having to remind myself it is a option).
also i on occasion use the medium grenade launcher and its pretty useful in specific situations, its reload time feels agonising though.
And ya I mean reload and time to activate I think is why heavies are least used as far to many of their things suffer those which is bad enough with a light person dash circles invisible while your fat butt is heaving trying to catch their breath and that assuming you not getting stunned which I just find down right stupid that the fastest class even has.... yes they need you to move even slower when they the fastest thing..
I would just prefer the removal of some the most annoying like stun, invis, and to least extent but still annoying flamer.
(also wish heavies did not get so much self damage from their explosives :D :( )
Though I do find it fun to use medium shield (another weapon I never 1x seen used) against lower tier players mainly for objectives not killing.
Unless someone else is using it, then they can laser me from Battlefield sniper distance.
Less than optimal at some locations, Sandstorm not great for it, or like the Dome tube structure up high at Las Vegas, damn hard to land any shots on that, since the grenades just bump off from it, nothing to stick them to it after the ricoche. Usually higher elevation enemies straight above, can't do much at all, unless there is roof or something to ricoche the shot down to them.
But great at smoking out behind corners, damage is good if you can land the shots, have to compensate for its weaknesses with your load out (I guess this true to all weapons), but I have always enjoyed projectile weapons in games.
I have seen few other heavies use it, not many. Have seen one M use GL in matches... I play M or H, might try the M GL at some point, have only tested it in the practice room, but the AK is already great as it is I feel. Good all around weapon for support. Heavy can go full damage load out (with at least one shield), and compensate with it for the weaknesses of the GL, but as M I like to go full support, with one offensive carriable.
If you wanna have fun with H, GL is the way to go, at least for me. It isn't for everybody, but I suggest giving it at least a try.
But ya a light= dodge->invis->stun/backstab you while you shoot the area they were 1sec ago and the gernade still bouncing around
medium = surprise I shoot you dead before your grenades go off and if you lucky we both die (probably you doing some the damage to yourself because yaaaa... its very easy to do).
But ya as said I like it for fun, but guns trump them in almost everything even if you got a great up high location and bombard the objective area you would have been better off even being a light sniper and just sniping them in most cases.
Most invi shotgun lights are brain dead tbh. You hear cloak, throw down expl mine behind you and boom, free kill. Charge and rockets work too. But no matter what you have, Ls can melt you in a second or two anyway.
GL is way better than you make it out to be, specially when paired with expl mines (grenades trigger them, grouped up enemies melt), any area where you can hit the ground or wall next to enemies, great aoe damage, but it does have trade offs, for sure, as we have pointed out.
For example here is a quick match I played today, GL, Charge, Bubble shield, Expl mine, RL, and I wasn't shooting from afar, I was in the thick of it most of times:

Just one screenie, but most matches aren't that different usually. Of course you get bad and good matches. Here I had really nice team mates too.
GL is totally viable, maybe not meta, it's just different.
It's because the game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and has visual recoil and sway so if you aim with ironsights while moving you will miss a lot. Dumb as ♥♥♥♥ because it just gives a huge advantage to people that use a cross hair overlay or draw a dot on their screen. This is another reason why the aim assist is strong as ♥♥♥♥.
I dont know about the M shotgun because it's useless trash.
If you can land your hits it's the second best gun for ttk on medic (grenade launcher is top dog.)
I experimented with Heavy weapons in the practice range, and found that the H shotgun kills in 4 shots against Medium enemies at around 10 meters. ADS or hipfire seems to make no difference, so I would recommend hipfiring unless you're trying to do scratch damage at long range (to delay health regeneration, or activate barrels / overhead cubes).
Also, of the machineguns (Lewis and M60), which one is superior? Either in general, or in specific situations or playstyles. Why would I choose one over the other?
