Why the hell does this game try to access my webcam?

I actually don't have one, but had Iriun webcam, and the game randomly initiated it giving me a small black window on the hud which annoyed me the hell when playing, it took some time for me to realise what that window was from, i thought it was from the game. I am sure i read someone else complaining about webcam in the forum, so what the hell? Are you spying?!
