12700k IMC is "rated" at 4800. Drop it to that then creep it up until you start having the issue again.... then drop it back down to where it was working without problem and you'll have found your sweet spot for this "wonderful" game, IF thats the fix that works for you.
Its not ideal.... and dont worry about anything else OTHER than the ram timings.... you could lower voltages and other settings to optimize but since you're new, I would just keep XMP on and use everything it gives but change the DRAM freq (speed) to 4800 to start testing.
If you play with it and it doesnt work, just toss the ram speed back to what it was, call it a day and chalk that attempt up to a L.
Good luck.
If you need more help, google will be your best friend, google your motherboard and the bios settings, and how to change ram speeds, probably a step by step guide somewhere.
So when i go into BIOS I have 2 different XMP tabs. one is just XMP and the other is ddr5 xmp booster. Which one should I choose. Also changed it to 4800 and was in a match for a min and crashed again. I keep getting the MISSING_ANGELSCRIPT_CALLSTACK Discovery.
Its just upsetting because I really enjoy this game and have been having a blast playing it but with all the crashes, its leaving a sour taste in the mouth
If that didnt work for you swap it back and try lowering your multiplier (you will have to google that, its based off mobo. Some have software you can do it in windows, but again, based soley off what mobo you have.
For your 12700k it should be 36, so drop it to 35. when you see P core and E core multiplier options, just drop the P Core. Again, if that doesnt help, change it back when done.
ALSO, I forgot to add this up top and will be editing. Turn DLSS to STATIC in game. I did that on both rigs as well.
I have the dynamic rez set to static but should i also turn dlss off and change it to TSAA?
Ray tracing, not DLSS... Im clearly getting tired. "NVidia RTX Global Illumination"
lol all good. Just wanted to try and see but I went back in to my BIOS and enabled my XMP and ive played 3 games so far and no crash. Maybe that fixed it but only time will tell
The update that just dropped may have too... this is so wonkey we will never know.
Just wanted to give you an update. Still no crashes so far. if this continues just wanted to say thank you for the help!
Now it's their turn to fix their ♥♥♥♥, but hey, the doors that open the wrong way in Vegas are fixed... lol... priorities.
