Meta in this game is too straightforward I think
The M/M/H team comp is just going to be too much of a no brainer.

Is it viable to do L/M/H? Yes it is, but the skill required to do so won't be worth it.

Which means that team fights are going to devolve into 2 pocket healers and constant rezzing. Personally think that steps should be taken to make that team comp not so much of an obvious pick.

Agreed, but good luck getting that point across. Healing is really hard to balance every time it shows up in a team shooter, but there's so many people ignoring it on this board, you'd think Medium is sleeper. Tons of options for gear yet most of them can't be used and no one seems to care.

Yes, true, it is going to be difficult to balance. But I think doing stuff like making the heal beam either have less max-charge or have it longer to heal would help.

Heal beam def needs a nerf, M/M/H Is broken atm. 2 defibs 2 heals is just braindead.

Yeah the double light will definitely work at a higher level of play. I'm more speaking to an issue that is going to be prevalent in pubs. For the double light play to work it would require some serious cooperation to take advantage of it. The issue being the consistency of that working would pale compared to just running the same comp.

Could probably make it so the healing does not stack and gadgets go on cool down when you get rezzed.

Yeah the cooldown to abilities and healing might work really well, that's a solid idea.

Slowing down the beam's healing would probably work. Regular health recovery is really slow in this game, so the beam doesn't necessarily have to be a mid-battle primary a la TF2.

I'm not sure that would work unless they were really coordinated and the whole group had their back turned. Otherwise, the Heavy would just delete the Lights and then that team would be down 2, especially if they're trying to do this with SMGs rather than shotguns.

Maybe give the light class a healing grenade that heals the team but also the enemy when they are close so it balances out a little. Or just add a anti-heal grenade (like in Overwatch).
Netsa Dec 14, 2023 @ 1:17pm
Anti-heal grenade would probably work. Healing grenade on Light would just exacerbate the healing problem and tighten up the heal bricks, which (imo), aren't fun to play against. They were ridiculous even in Overwatch, but Overwatch at least had ultimates to deal with them and reasonable ways to assassinate healers.

light backstabs the healer, gg
I've seen how powerful the defib into healing beam is, seems like it can outheal the DPS of a heavy shotgun which is kinda crazy. If you dont immediatly switch to the M healing you won't be able to kill the heavy, if he doesn't kill you first.

they should just lock 1 heal per team and maybe 1 defib per team.. so it doesn't end up so stupid.

It doesn't even remotely outheal that...
