I would however purchase multiple complete skins for like $5 to $8. That just feels more reasonable to me. $20 for one outfit? I can't pull the trigger lol.

Exactly. The math has already been done, people. Raise the prices to as high as you can expect only 10% of your playerbase will actually pay for and you'll make far more money than lowering the prices down so that 90% of people will pay for them.
The pack skins are simiarly priced to that of a COD pack or a single weapon skin in valorant. The finals is a free to play game and they somehow have to make money..
The children and... young minded people... need instant gratification for as little work/cost as possible, its a thing that unfortunately will never go away.
With that said If they were 5 bucks people would still be here complaining about the same thing.
The company has found a price point that works best for them, the complainers who dont like it will always be the loudest.
