black screen on startup fix ?

Did you wait for it to load?
Usually this black screen is the game loading the shaders / assets, for first time loads.

Give it a wait.. for mine was about 5 ~ 10 mins

I just went through the said screen myself and... I do understand that its made this way in order to achieve better perfomance during the gameplay itself, but is it really that hard to put a progress bar? Or, at very least, a text that says "Compiling shaders, please wait", so I would know that the game is working properly and didn't freeze/get stuck?

Yeap.. If u did buy it and played it... I thought Starfield did that well. Could see the progress.

Right click the game's title > Properties > Launch Options section.

Paste "-d3d11" without quotes in the text field.

Close the game's Properties window and launch the game, this may helps a few of you to solve the problem.

Fai clic con il pulsante destro del mouse sul titolo del gioco > Proprietà > sezione Opzioni di avvio.

Incolla "-d3d11" senza virgolette nel campo di testo.

Chiudi la finestra Proprietà del gioco e fai partire il gioco, questo potrebbe aiutare alcuni di voi a risolvere il problema.

The launch option for directx11 is a fix to launch it. If you want to keep it with dx12, a fix I found and worked for me was going to the Exploit Protection in Windows setting and changing the program settings of Discovery.exe to override system settings for arbitrary code guard. No idea why it worked but it did.

Thank you. This really work for me, after sitting in black screen on launch for long time, then I did -d3d11 and my game instantly start up! no more black screen. Take my points.

It worked for me one time but after closing the game and trying to launch it for the sec time it shows me the UE5 discovery crush, is there anyway to fix this ?
