go back to CoD
you do know its very common in fast paced multiplayer shooters or any other multiplayer shooters games to have right.
''standing around at spawn'' i'm not doing that, when I or someone else wants to use text chat during a game, its after getting killed, and have to wait for re spawn to be done or teammate pick them back up, that enough time to get them information, and help them out.
''shout verbal abuse at your incompetent teammates'' well I don't do that, but I know there is huge ton of bad apples in every online multiplayer games, but there is ton of ways to stomp that stuff out, like muting, reporting, banning certain words in the text chat from being use.
''Either buy a mic'' yes, i do have mic, but i don't want to use it, cause in all of matches/some other video games that i'm played, all of people don't talks on mic anymore, only few games have people talking with mic. Also some people can't afford good mics. plus all of people have reasons to not use mic, like being shy, they don't like sound of their voice, or toxic people.
''go back to CoD'' mate Cod is dead, its being dead for many years now, Also there many
other multiplayer games like this good one right here lol. I just want text chat.
Thankfully there already exists a solid option for those who don't want to use a mic: the Communication Wheel. Bring it up by holding MMB and you have a bunch of different options for communicating things to teammates. You can also quickly press and release MMB to do a contextual ping, meaning if you're aiming at an enemy it will spot that enemy with a "Danger" icon, if you're aiming at an objective it will mark that objective as the one you're headed towards, if you're aiming at an objective that has already been marked by a teammate it will "confirm" their choice, signaling to them that you're on-board with their plan and intend on going there with them, etc.
Could have profanity filter, team-only chat, mute options or just disable altogether in options.
Even quick chat could be better ("Sorry", "On my way", "I'll cover you" etc.)
Toxicity is not an excuse to not have text chat, there are so many ways to prevent it.
kinda of silly, if its never going to happen at all
''just disable altogether in options'' Devs did that with voice chat, so they can do it
