99.9999% of people dont care, literally of all the games, this is not the one where voice acting matters. some people are just super strongly against ai, no matter what, when or where.
"smoking is bad"
"but you drank a beer once!"
if someone says
"i have a problem with this product from my ethical standpoint"
and you respond with
"but what about/no you"
that is silly. and i you probably agree with me if you think about it for just a second! :)
that's just nothing. stop being silly. if you want to defend ai garbage do that. if you want to make arguments for or against the use of ai in art do that.
i think the use of ai in art is unethical especially when you don't tell the consumer. this leaves a sour taste in my mouth more than the fomo shop. hence i will never give them my money. the game does seem fun. but damn that's just disgusting in my opinion.
i guess it also depends on what ai model they use. if it's from 100% consentual voice actors they use their base on then fine, but it's probably stolen artwork(voices) used to then profit.
hence the ethical problem here for me. just like with any ai "art" it's made from stolen content with no credit to the original artists, and then if it's used in a commercial product that makes it even worse.
if you don't care about that or see it as a problem that's fine.
but please go on youtube and search "logic 101"
I get why voice actors might be upset by it, but there are plenty of industries where people are being automated out of work. That's just the reality of it. Evolve and adapt.
The game play comes first, over everything else.
Who honestly cares if the use AI voice foe the few lines they actually say?
If It was a story based game that has many voice line and characters fair enough, but it doesn't so why does it matter?
