Intel CPUs should start throttling at the 80 mark, you're not supposed to hit 90
I'm a game developer, I get flack if my game is hitting 50 degrees in the menu and we probably have a higher poly count (more going on) than what is happening in The Finals menu.
V-sync on for me locks me to my monitors 144fps.. confirmed.. v-sync off the fps fly to over 240fps+
for gpu its margin of error in terms of temperature
its kinda crazy that my usage, power draw, and temps are within margin of error while in the menu compared to ingame, for both cpu and gpu.
its not an uncapped fps thing, its as if the main menu is a level and the performance is nearly identical to gameplay
I found out how to do this here https://www.geeks3d.com/20170213/how-to-disable-intel-turbo-boost-technology-on-a-notebook/
I got The Finals tested on an 11th gen Intel cpu and the temps were fine in and out of menus so it seems the game might not be optimised for later generation CPUs.
Hope this helps anybody with the same issue.
Great game btw, very fresh take on the FPS genre
