Doesn't help that all these games have the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ UI at this point. Adding battlepass and boring, ugly characters doesn't help. The game isn't bad but something about the game just feels so incredibly soulless that I can't bring myself to play it any longer. I feel like I'm in a skinnerbox waiting for a dopamine hit. The game basically feels like you took a bunch of random game ideas, shoved it into a competitive FPS and called it a day. Not bad, but not really anything special.
i almost never play PvP and haven't played most of the big name FPS games (CoD, Battlefield, etc.) so i have a bit of an "outsider perspective", but cashout is fun (and although i don't like bank it as much, it's still neat).
the concept of AI voices for announcers is good (IRL announcers have to make stuff up on the fly and you simply can't do that with pre-recorded lines), but the execution probably won't pan out as planned due to the limitations of AI (and most of the lines i've heard seem like it could just be a regular voice acted line, but at this point i've damn near muted them since it's kinda distracting).
the destruction is really fun and the variety of weapons makes it kinda interesting to think of a good counter-combo (i recently found that pyro + sonar is noice), and the fact that i can just blow up a wall in my way rather than trying to find an exit makes traversal so much better.
i dunno, i don't like PvP enough to have much more to say, but just like when Splitgate came out this one's been pretty fun. Even managed to convince my friends to try it out lol.
I usually don't enjoy sweating in a game but with this game it just comes naturally and it's actually fun. The announcer calling out placements and the ambient noises make me want to win. Even when we lose it feel great because it was a fair hard fought game. I don't often feel cheated out of wins and the game has lots of room for many different skills to manifest. Lots of room for clutch moments and tons of different strategy. Actually feels like i'm on some game show.
