I agree that the backstab windup is too slow (because I love the dagger so much lol, better for me >:)

As another person that uses Dagger, the backstab wind-up is perfectly fine. It's an instant kill. All you have to do is press the button a little bit earlier. Sorry this isn't TF2 where you can just spam the button and maybe get a backstab off. It's not inconsistent, either (at least, it hasn't been for me).

Not to say that it's a great weapon, but neither is Sword. The problem with Dagger has nothing to do with the wind-up time.

if you fudge up the backstab then you are SOL. But if you read the situation well you can be absolutely cracked with the thing. My loadout is cloak, knife, thermal, smokes, and flashbangs.

i gave dagger a try and i liked more than sword but i feel like attacks has to be faster than sword, its a dagger after all. it really doesnt feel like using it as meelee when you are the role with the lowest hp. that being said im not an actual light class user.

Dagger made me a light class user actual. Get invisibility, and just go for backstabs. Do normal knifing if the enemy is super low, or after the backstab failed and you need to get emergency stabs in to try to save yourself.

The back stab feels so inconsistent. It looks like I hit someone in the back just for them to only take 50 Damage and turn around just to RPG me. It's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ irritating

the knife was a lot better before they changed right-click to a wind up animation, was much better as a hold to charge, but the biggest problem with the knife (even since alpha) is the terrible interpolation in this game, a character can turn 180 and shoot you 3-5 times before his player model even turns around on your client, this makes the back stab seem inconsistent because you stab someone in the back on your client when in reality he turned enough that you didn't connect with their back. This issue also leads to things like people facing the opposite direction killing you, getting killed after you're already 2 feet around a corner or cover, not being able to kill a riot shielder even though you're shooting him in parts that aren't covered by the shield, and my favourite: missing all my shots with the revolver because someone is a-d-a-d crouch spamming.
