this is why every MP game should have a text chat in addition to a voice chat.
if the game forced everyone to join the voice chat by default it wouldn't be as much of an issue, but most people just don't pay attention so either way it won't work quite as well - however, having a text chat is great for those who do pay attention and want to actually communicate with their team.
Writing and reading in this kind of fast paced game is more often than not just a distraction and an avenue for harrasment and other kinds of unhelpful behaviour.
Have fun and good luck!
Relative noobs do not know the pride held in a hardcore mmo when you watched and waited for someone to come up and hit you, giving them a few free shots on you just so they could flash their name and be obliterated by superior skill and gear. Typing in between wars, or just to embarrass someone who is getting wrecked. We fit typing in because it is additional to the existing experience.
The times of being able to quickly type out something mid-micro are falling to the wayside as literacy levels are so much lower/achieved later than they used to be, and hardcore games/gamers are increasingly overshadowed by the casual.
The Finals does have a lot of casual aspects/players, while remaining very fast paced. Still there are wasted opportunities for these sacred interactions.
