CPU 100% and not starting

Downloaded the game and it just stays stuck on a black screen, I haven't seen a lick of the game. Anyone know why this is?

I had 100% cpu usage when first launching it with dx12, I closed the game and switched to dx11. Haven't had any issues since. Add -d3d11 to the launch options, it might fix it for you as well.

i have 3080 and i play it just fine, straight 5 hours no crash.
driver version 546.17 i have a problem with version 546.29 with other game and dont want to update it, and i play just fine.

i used task manager to end the task while it was stuck in blackscreen (at 98% cpu usage >:/, then it worked the next 2 times ive opened it, but i have continued to see the game using my cpu much heavier than my memory which is concerning and i gotta hope for some optimization patches soon. crashed HARD once in like 90 minutes of playing which isnt terrible ig but it was one of those crashes where for a few seconds u feel like u have a bomb on your desk. all things said, dis ♥♥♥♥ slaps

try ending the task while ur stuck in blackscreen, i did this and it opened up the next time i tried, and all the times after. game does continue to suck da life out ya cpu sadly but its all worth it to get lit on fire and pummeled w a sledgehammer

Im running an aftermarket Noctua rated for this Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-10850K CPU @ 3.60GHz 3.60 GHz CPU and still overheating. Its not a hardware issue its a optimization issue as i have no problem with any other game including cyberpunk on max video settings.

This seems incredibly odd, I'm running an i7 9700k, while lower TDP, I'm running it in a 240 Corsair AIO and it doesn't peak above 50 c @ 100% , same as every other game I've run on it. Something seems off, hardware wise.

This game smokes my CPU 5800x and my 6800xt im running hot all over. Dont like this at all

Yeah, I don't think I'll be playing this again until they fix these issues with the CPU, not sure what they're doing but something is completely destroying my CPU, watercooled 5800x & 6800xt and I still hit 90c in british winter so ambient temps are cool right now

I have 3080 with i7 11700kf, I had like 170-200 fps and game was stuttering (100% cpu usage). I capped my fps to 120 and now its fine, no stuttering at all, try to reduce more if its too much for you.

There's been other threads similar to this and also saying their CPU gets crazy hot, a few shared similar anecdotes that they felt it was linked to certain usb devices being plugged in. one person mentioned a scuff controllers another mentioned their mouse was the peripheral being affected. I suspect it has something to do with a garbage in house kernel level anticheat they are cooking up and should have held this game in beta much longer to develop.
