The Finals breaking my sound/audio?
It seems to only become a problem once I'm actually in a server (training mode included) but my audio cuts out completely and then does some weird swaps between left and right, at several different volume levels and then it just cuts out completely. It completely stops my audio outside of the game too, even when i close it i can't hear anything on my PC. It's very strange and I've never seen any issues like this before lol. I have a sound card (Sound Blaster Audigy FX) that I use for my speaker setup (Logitech X-540) with center/sub, left, right, and center speakers. Most of the time i have headphones plugged into my sound systems headphone jack.

I know this is the most insane thing but it only cuts my audio from my headphones, if i unplug them and run the speakers on their own it seems to work perfectly fine. The only way to undo this problem is to restart my PC. I launched other games and my headphones work fine, but for some reason this game seems to place a curse on my headphone jack or something. Any explanation/help is appreciated, i'd like to use my headphones lol

It's not playing nice with my sound card, I switch it to my motherboards output after restarting my PC and now it seems fine. I guess I just need to find an extension for my headphones

I have similar issue. Works fine at fist then will randomly drop all sound and mic. Can't hear, can't communicate. Restart required. I do have a sound card (Sound Blaster AE-9). Maybe this game (The Finals) doesn't like sound cards as this game is the only game that does this to my PC.

Same for me man, we'd have to find more people with the issue to be sure, but it could also just be incompatibility with sound blaster cards? not sure.

My roommate had this issue for both betas and the release. We found the following.
1. Try adding "-d3d11" to the game launch properties in steam.
2. Try disabling VOIP chat by pressing K
3. Make sure your mic is plugged into a USB 3 outlet or greater and NOT a 2.0.

In the end, it was the USB 3 that did the trick. Kind of an odd issue to have.

I don't actually have a USB mic, I think ultimately what the issue is is having multi channel audio. If i use my Realtek drivers (2 Channel) it's fine but if i use multi channel (surround sound) on my sound card it breaks every time.

Not the only one. I just tried to play the game for the first time and got the same thing. Full volume static. Thought it was a fluke the first time, second time it happened I just uninstalled the game. Not even going to try to fix it, not worth the hearing damage.

I'm having the opposite issue. It just turns my mic volume down whenever I slightly rise my voice, it's extremely annoying.

I have the liberty of using a few different audio setups, one of which is through a soundblaster card (soundblaster z), with headphones. I have the exact same issue down to every detail when running it through the card, but nowhere else, meaning this is probably just an issue with specifically that brand of card and the finals. I don't have much of a solution other than a temporary one: Toggling "Enable audio enhancements" will undo the issue, though you'll have to rejoin discord voice channels when you do it.

I have a sound blaster card (SoundBlasterX AE-5) too and have the same problem. I used to temporarily fix this problem by swapping recording input, but toggling audio enhancements looks simpler.

I'm using an audio interface(motu m2).
In the main menu, the audio cuts out intermittently.
When I load into practice, my audio cuts on entirely, not just in the finals.
I have to quit out and restart my interface to get audio back.
It's possible this isn't a finals specific issue, as I have other issues with this audio interface outside of the finals, but never like this. Every other game I've played doesn't have this issue.
It's worth noting that the game prompted me to update my graphics drivers(1070 TI), and I did, but I'm not sure how that would affect audio.
