the game is OVERHEATING my CPU .. WHY ??
recently i purchased the i9 14900k and heared some several rumors about it being a Heat/Power hungry monster so i decided to keep my temperatures reads active all the time to keep everything checked .. i use Corsair H170 elite capllex watercooler and i have 3 fans front and three beside them as intakes and 3 up in the water cooler and one in the back as exhaust .. so airflow in the case is pretty damn good .. and i even used the anti bender socket for more cooling and better contact with the cpu .. resaults : 65-70 degree max on many games : Call of duty MW3 and Warzone on 4k and Dlss quality .. same for Overwatch 2 .. Control .. and many other games and still testing .. BUT ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it gets massive Heat Spike when i turn " The finals " On ... 86 degress on MAIN MENU .. what the hell was that .. and it keeps going back and forth between 84 to 87 each time .. BUT when game starts and i start playing it goes to 65-75 ish .. is there some kind of problem with the main menus ??
and sadly when the game reaches that 87-88 degress i keep seeing new issues dont know if they even related ... i run the game on 4k Dlss balanced with high graphics settings .. i start to worry about my components since so far this spike in heat is only happening in " The finals " wonder how many face this and if there is anything you guys doing to fix it + is there any kind of official anncouncment from developers addressing this weird issue ?

Unplugging my controller fixed the issue with the main menu running way hotter than ingame

i use wireless controller .. i dont belive this could be causing this .. whats ur pc specs ?
Sabinox 7 ENE 2024 a las 22:30
I solved the problem by capping my fps in the nvidia control panel to 120.

It's stupid but really a lot of people did solve overheating problem by unplugging their controllers. I can not confirm that due to I don't have a plugged one (mb the system thinks that I do) but you should try it.

The game is actually pretty poorly made and phoned in so don't expect much.

bro bought the most heat generating consumer cpu on the market and is complaining about heat lmao. I have a 5.1 all core 10900k with a 360 aio and while it makes a lot of heat its no more than forza horizon 5 or any other well optimized game

i am complaining ? am just trying to compare resaults .. besides .. no other game does this same overheat problem .. tested almost every heavy good graphics game .. in 4k all things maxed out : call of duty - cyperpunk - red dead 2 - dying light - hogwart legacy .. nothing exceeds 70 and thats just weird to see in the finals

that literally only happens if you're on a laptop or have a horrendous setup where your mb gets no air... that should be heating up your vrms by max 1-2 degrees which shouldnt affect ur cpu temps. oif youre on a laptop where they all share one thermal pipe then it could cause issues but the change still wont be drastic. if its overheating due to a controller then the laptop thermals ar eshit anyways and should alr be throttling due to other reasons.

If its not thermal throttling there's no reason at all why you should care. If it is though try reapplying your cooler with new thermal paste, with the specs you've given there's no reason or scenario where it should thermal throttle, even if you're on controller.

I mean the 13th gen and 14th gen are super power hungry. But dx12 seems to be the culprit. I switched to dx11 and dropped like 10c. Everything else is the same. I added -d3d11 to the launch options.
