I think its fair to say, in the real world, the 99% of the people who actually care about "the sponsors" are the people being sponsored. Everyone else either doesn't give a F, or hates the sponsors for mushroom stamping their name everywhere they can, and for coming up with horrific stadium names.

In the make believe world about make believe games, real people care about sponsors even less, so, please chill on the sponsor commentary.

Now... I'll be honest, if this is all a lead-in to having real companies buy space in the game.... that would be clever. Billboards and a simple "brought to you by" would be kinda cute (esp if that decreases need for microtransactions) (and as long as I don't have to watch a video commercial... that's an insta uninstall)

Nah ... it wouldn't be cute with either Heckler & Koch or Starbucks ads on billboards, rather gross if you ask me.

Not that I know, but I don't really think folks and athletes being sponsored care for the sponsoring companies. If you get things or services for free you are the product and they will use you somehow. The ones caring are obviously the companies themselves to widen their reach and increase profit, otherwise they will withdraw from such activities.
