edit: In The Finals specifically, you have cheaters who can 1 shot kill people at full health from across the map. They've not only cheated their aim, but also multiplied their damage. When you hear "cheater/hacker" on these forums people are either talking about this kind of cheat, or aim assist controller users.
then next game is pistol light hitting every single shot from across the map after i hit a large jump pad, or 100% headshots as i'm falling through a crumbling building.
A lot of people claim cheating where its really just skilled players, but finals obviously has a cheater problem.
I think a death cam would make for some interesting clips from both.
Players who are often ignoring their team, refusing to play as a team, and solo killing entire teams. Players who seem like they have far more information than they should have like knowing when a revive is happening outside of audible range.
Players who are cheating often play in a very overconfident way knowing that the cheats will carry them through any fight.
Basically, what defines a cheat user is perfect accuracy, tracking and consistency. And by perfect I mean PERFECT - they never miss, nor in close range or long range, even when they are moving really fast in the air or you are - or even both, why not lol - Even pro players makes mistakes and are not frame perfect every single time.
When someone who didn't saw you hide somewhere clearly go out of his way especially to get you, it's also very suspicious. Bonus points if he also start shooting the instant he has a line of sight - or even before. Someone who can spot you while invisible at 25+ meters is also very suspicious.
And obviously "rage cheaters", the more uncommon kind, those who clearly do something they shouldn't be able to - Flying, running faster than feasable, going through walls, going invisible despite not playing as light, doing maximum damage at extremely long range, are unkilable, One shoting you with low damage weapons and so on.
Also, when there is disresperency on how a player move and how precise he is. If he moves like a noob - never check corners or behind him, clearly has trouble to move around in his environment, regulary miss actions like revives, catching a rope, lmove like he doesn't really know what he is doing, failing to climb somewhere, yet insta melt you in every single confrontation, this is a big giveaway. No player that can't have fluid movement can have godlike aim. Fluidity in gameplay comes with experience, same as aiming ability, and someone with no experience can't simply never miss a bullet.
Killcam definitely helps in spotting them. Also helps knowing what you did wrong.
I don't even know why we don't have killcam and POTG features in this games, as it perfectly match with the theme.
You do get a free cam if your team wipes, which does let you see suspicious behavior.
