There are a lot of annoying thing to play against in this game. Arguable a 2 heavy + medium with heal gun is the most annoying. It's nigh impossible to break through 4 shields unless you have a glitch grande. And given in ranked you cant change equipment, what are you supposed to do if you don't pick it? The game doesn't let you see what the enemies have equip during the pre-select screen, so how are you supposed to counter pick?

Make it so you can't equip the barrier and the dome shield, or only allow one to be deployed at a time per heavy. So if the dome shield is down, the moment the heavy uses their barrier the dome shield un-deploys - as if it's using a shared battery.

Seems like light invisibility/shotty could counter this pretty well, but again, what are you going to do about it if you're stuck in a different class.

There's a few things that I think need to be limited to 1 per team, this certainly seems cheesy as hell.

Honestly there are a lot of ways to counter shields. You can shoot them to disable them, melee works well, heavy charge, a gas barrel (the gas goes through the shields). Honestly shields don't stop me much, I laugh when a heavy uses the q shield because unless they have good coordinated team mates, they are doing nothing while using it and I'll just heavy charge them and clean up with the shot gun. Everything has a counter in this game.

Everything does have a counter. So why have they limited the ability to swap equipment in ranked? If you get steam rolled and wiped as a team by some cheesy strat, there is currently no counter play in ranked. The game is built around the idea of you creating contestants where you select a primary kit and 4 extra items for you to swap too. But then this has been disabled in ranked unless it's between rounds. It feels like someone said, "whats the difference between a tournament and a ranked tournament?" And the devs had no idea, so added an extra round and disabled a key part of their own game, to make it feel more competitive.

Yea, I think it would be fine to add the ability to swap kit to ranked. The meta loadout is the meta loadout for a reason, it usually has the most versatility. For heavy, Q shield is trash, goo gun is situational, but the charge is so useful for so much, can be defensive, offensive, you can push someone off a capture, you can use it to escape, access areas from unexpected places by going through walls/ floors, remove the benefits of shields, etc.... If you are running light, you should always have glitch and stun gun... They are too useful not to.

lmao I have been saying this EXACT thing in other thread.

2 heavy with 2 shields (4 shields total) and one medium for the pocket heal is BROKEN team comp.

In short, heavy should have ONE of the shield and the medium have the other (although a lesser version maybe)

This is just my initial idea cus yea, FOUR shields with a pocket heal is extremely difficult to deal with if you don't have the glitch grenade/trap.

You just do basically the exact thing they show in the trailer: wreck the terrain to ruin their position and ambush or reposition the cash box to your own team's prepped turtle position. Also, people complain about lobbed C4 on Fire/Gas but it feels like it's designed to counter this exact kinda of team deathball behaviour if you can lob one in when there's a gap.

In a pub lobby it's pretty easy to have none of the counters to shield/turtle equipped on your whole team. Or what happened to me earlier - no one had any counter to a team cutting all the ziplines to a floating objective. no one could get to the objective even if we made all the picks. Then you're just left with hopefully finding enough explosive canisters around the map to blow up the objective, and sometimes all you can find are smokes.
