Is this game a good intro to rhythm game “modcharts”
What I mean by a modchart is from other rhythm games. It’s when the game elements move around, look cool, and make it harder to judge when to press buttons to the beat.

The Rift’s enemies move and defend themselves in all kinds of ways. So does that make each song a “modchart” in its own way?

As somebody who's played a lot of NotITG and the like for years, I actually think Rift (at least on the harder difficulties) is super different. Hard difficulty is a little easier than an average NotITG modchart imo, but Impossible is a very different beast.

Since every level uses the same set of enemies it doesn't actually have the same variety that typical modcharts have, a lot of the high difficulty songs require you to perform more inputs in more complicated ways than most modcharts. Or, to put it simply, where standard modcharts get their difficulty from hard to read parts as opposed to hard to execute parts, Rift gets its difficulty from both.

Doesn't help that for Rift you're focusing all of those inputs on fewer keys since there are only 3 tracks.
