Is timing in this game busted or am I missing something?
I'm kinda losing my mind here. This has been my experience playing Rift so far:

I run the calibrator. Do the blip test and the visual test. Run the test chart. It readjusts my timing after one attempt. On second attempt I hit all perfects. Feels great. Can't wait to start actually playing the game.

I go play Elusional (Hard). Great chart, Great song. Simple, easy to read. I am *sure* I am hitting the notes on beat. I get more greats than perfects. Everything is way too early.

I manually readjust the offset through trial and error. Get a good score with like 10:1 perfect to great ratio.

Move to another chart.

Same problem. Everything's still either too early or too late and I need to further adjust the offset.

Sometimes it even feels like I get wildly different results playing the same chart back-to-back, without changing anything in the calibration.

What's happening? Is anyone else feeling this? Am I just crazy or is the timing really this inconsistent? I love this game and would love to just calibrate my offset and forget about it, but it really feels like I need to keep adjusting it over and over again.

I have had this issue with rhythm games before and it might have something to do with graphical settings/etc. I would suggest to try running it lower resolution + windowed to see if that fixes it, as I can only assume that something is actually causing the game to lag/put the timng off. My laptop is not TOO powerful so I have found this with games like Muse Dash
I'm wondering about this as well. Would be great to get to the bottom of this.
Might be worth asking on the official Discord?

matching game fps to monitor refresh rate and having offsets to 0 worked the best for me

Check the "how to change some game settings" pinned thread in general discussions, it'll tell you how to do it.

I can FC a lot of the songs. Baboosh Medium is one of the prime examples. Perfects all the way through, and then suddenly at around the time where you get the first 1-2-3 with the yellow blobs and Single big skull into two small skulls.. the game starts lagging for a few seconds and all my timings are off?

I managed to get third place on it, but going from perfects to greats and sometimes even OK! is very frustrating when the game lags, to the point where I even adjust my own pacing to intentionally lag behind the beat for that part.

I did all the FPS and vsync stuff, calibration is perfect, and still it seems to lag at some parts.
