Question about Deep Blues (chess) fight... (bug or I'm stupid?)
Trying to complete it on hard (ideally without getting hit). Pawns and Knights are easy. Rook is a bit confusing. But Bishops those are annoyingly fast, I have super hard time predicting their attacks (and trying to click fast - end up failing with Rooks)

Question: before each attack some chess pieces jump in the air, as if those gonna attack. However, they do not. It seems that jumping chess pieces and attacking chess pieces have zero cohesion.

Examples:
1) 4 pawns jump \ attack: pawn - knight - pawn
2) Bishop+knight+rook jump \ attack: knight - pawn - knight
3) Bishop+knight+pawn jump \ attack: bishop - bishop - rook - knight - rook

Am I missing something? Am I overthinking? Maybe those jumps don't suppose to mean anything? Should I just "git good" and quickly react to bishop out of the blue, while not mixing it with a Rook/Knight?

Wish you got an answer, because those bishops are wrecking me too -_-
The jumps merely indicate the starting side and piece of the pattern. Just the Pawns means Pawn, just the back rank means Knight, back-Pawns-back means Bishop, everything all at once means Rook.

Bishops move diagonally, so they'll quickly attack from the opposite side from which they spawn. On the very next beat, you have to dodge into where they spawned.

(I also wrote an entire guide about this and the other Hard bosses! If this wasn't enough, I hope you find the answers there.)

I didn't pick up on every one of those indicators, but I did learn the bishop indicator specifically because of how hard they are to deal with, probably the most difficult attack in any boss fight.
