Because you don't want that. It's horribad. The PC version cut it out and it's all the better for it.
As to the original post, I'd definitely say the PC version (Steam or otherwise) of this game is my favorite iteration of the story.
psp version had some extra content is why i mentioned it
PS: Technically the voice acting wasn't "removed" from the Steam version because it never existed on PC to begin with. The PSP version came out after the PC version in Japan. The more you know.
As for Wanderer I'm curious to know which version is the best for that.
Since Oath basically overwrite the original I think there is no chances...
But it's obvious how much Oath improved on the original, replacing it.
I've compared screenshots of the ports, and to be honest, I don't get why you say that.
The SNES version sounds way better, at least the BGMs, and the graphics aren't that bad at all, even compared to the PC-88.
Screenshots will not do it justice. SNES has poor hit detection and TG-16 has choppier animation and background scrolling. The final staircase climb on PC88 is a visual programming marvel of the time that the console ports fail to replicate. Genesis is the best approximation (though stiil not perfect) and has by far the best handling of the soundtrack, being FM like the original and basing its arrangements on the superior X68000 version.
lmao
I have a soft spot for the SNES Wanders from Ys, but that game is pretty terribly designed and very badly translated. The combat strategies are all either grinding or cheese. I wouldn't mind seeing another crack as a platforming Ys game, but that one was a flop, IMO.
