Which one of these items should I buy?

I'm up to the worm...crystal...thing boss that pukes out little rock creatures that reflect its attacks bullet-hell style (it's kicking my ♥♥♥ but not that bad). I also explored the mountains area and have a save at the mid-point.

Will any of these upgrades be a complete waste of money at this point, i.e. will I find the same thing or something better in a future area/dungeon?

Edit: oh and here's my current equipment http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=660027395

you won't find better equipment in the mountains but you will in the castle afterwards

the castle contains an armor, shield, and sword but the sword comes last and you wont find it until after fighting two castle bosses (in addition to the mountain bosses and the caves boss)

so i would recommend getting the sword

I don't remember it ever being remotely worth skipping any of the tiers of gear. You get better gear in the castle, but that's two entire dungeons later and you should really be wearing banded gear by then anyway.

If you can afford Banded gear, get it. Get the sword first, because ending fights quicker is much more valuable than surviving another hit or two. If you're exploring very well at all, you'll be able to afford the rest of the armor before fighting the mountain boss, and you'll need it for him.

The only gear investment that's actually a waste of money is the absurdly expensive extra points to improve the final set of gear in the game. And at that point you don't really have much else to spend it on anyway.

not that bad of a grindy game tbh just keep rollin with the story eventually your get gear ya need

The only stuff I remember being a grind is the extra points on the Raval gear at endgame. And like I said, it's not useful but you literally have nothing else to spend stuff on.

Everything else, you'll be able to afford when you need it as long as you don't skip literally everything on the way to each boss.

You get raval ore handed out like candy in the final dungeon.

Yeah but you also need some 5200 ore to buy the shield and upgrade all the gear to max. Not to mention 90k gold. And you'll still probably need the 60k gold amulet for Galbalan.

As long as you're good at finding treasure and not skipping all the monsters, you'll comfortably get enough to get the shield and upgrade the sword at least.

I just got the "upgrade all your equipment" achievement and money wasn't a problem at all; I just needed a little extra ore and killing a bunch of Levynades for probably less than 10 minutes was more than enough. They drop really big chunks of it pretty often.

Yeah even then you don't have to grind all that long, just long enough to get bored enough to not want to do it.
