I don't get why switching to character 2 punishes you

It says if you play as 2, 1 starts taking damage and 2 does 50%. Why? Its effectively just punishing me for using half my avaialble moves.

I think it's supposed to say "0.5 MORE damage"
But either way you can't get hurt when you switch, so it's effectively free damage

Thank you for your interest. In the game, when you switch characters, instead of taking damage, you will experience a 50% reduction in inflicted damage. This feature has been implemented in the current demo version to allow players to freely change characters without penalties, but there may be adjustments in the future. Thank you. :)
