After the last fight with Asakura as a support in the party, Kasuga asks him what he wants to do and Asakura replies with "A good goal...would be...An undefeated boxing world champ?". Which I am pretty sure it's a clear reference to the Kurohyou games since Tatsuya was also training after the first game to be pro boxer. That was a long time ago and he might've become a undefeated pro boxer in the meantime.

I have a feeling that he might become a poundmate in the future installments since I am sure they won't remaster or make new games with him

I can see the correlation between Tatsuya and Asakura. although, it could still be a pure coincidence.

I think Yokoyama said in January last year that they weren't going to remake the Kurohyou games. They didn't even develop them and Tatsuya isn't really their character. But it definitely could be a reference. They seem to have dropped more than a few cultural references in the game. One being all the chapter titles are based on song titles (different ones for Japanese version which doesn't include subtitled version). And the Evangelion reference

i thought that too when i did that substory but i doubt its meant to be a kurohyou reference. probably just a coincidence

I think it's a mistranslation. That sub-story was made before 2022, when Asakura's camp had a proposition to Mayweather's (undefeated boxing world champ) for a match.

What Mikuru means isn't that he wants to become an undefeated boxing world champ, but he wants to fight an undefeated boxing world champ (Mayweather).

huh i just looked him up, I remember that mayweather exhibition but never saw it. Didn't even realize he fought an mma guy.
