How do they know Kiryu's name.
I just finished a new run through of Yakuza: LAD. At no time is Ichiban told Kiryu's name, yet in Infinite wealth he calls him by name from the moment they meet near the docks. A teensy little plot hole, here.

Well, you would know how he'd know that name in Yakuza: Like a Dragon. I suggest you play that game too, then.
I just stated that I did a run through of Yakuza: LAD. Ichiban is NEVER told Kiryu's name.
They're friends in this game. Clealy they've met somewhere, sometime and Kiryu told Ichiban his real name or somesuch which we just don't see on-screen. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence!

What's really surprising is that Kiryu is an absolute living legend among yakuza yet plenty of his old friends and acquaintances don't recognize him. It's like he has Clark Kent's superpower of dissembling.

Infinite Wealth takes place like 4 years after Like a Dragon so it's not implausible that he found out about the Dragon of Dojima guy who helped with the dissolution, or even spoken with him one or multiple times before the events at Hawaii.

Kiryu is the 3rd chairman of the Tojo clan and one of the most famous Yakuza in Japan, Do you think someone as obsessed with the Tojo clan as Ichiban doesn't know who Kiryu is?

No the worlds fault that you dont follow their history or anything... LAD IW is a follow up to LAD.

I mean, do you know how lame it would be if each time you met a character in game you had to be introduced to them in each installment ?

Go read a wiki on LAD and it will explain all people.

So, to the OP: Not a plot hole -- you just are not paying attention

Well he did not recognise him or know who he was during the events of Yakuza 7.

It is never explained how Ichiban learns who Kiryu is between games, although since they make it so obvious that the Geomijul already knew during Yakuza 7 it's not exactly a stretch to believe that's how Ichiban found out somewhere during the time between the two games.

lets say this is all true, Seonhee and Joon-Gi-Han both know for a fact who Kiryu is before even meeting him.

And with how close Date and Adachi are, it is plausible that Adachi also knows who he is. So even if all of that is true, there are 3 people close to Ichiban who will tell him who the mysterious stranger is.

It is shown in Like A Dragon Gaiden:
When the fighting during the announcement for dissolution breaks out, Kiryu appears with Majima saying "I knew you weren't dead" and Saejima saying "The Dragon of Dojima."

Here is the moment: https://youtu.be/dARpspEkZFs?t=35454

This scene is in Yakuza 7 as well. Still doesn't explain how Ichiban knows, considering Ichiban encounters Kiryu after this happens in that game and still doesn't know who he is.
