Like damn, can they chill with bringing back dead characters back to life for no real reason? Next thing you know, Ryuji, Yumi or Niski will be somewhere in US or Europe living their best lives as a bar tender.

they have yakuza characters memorial exhibition from rgg, nishiki and mines picture is on them meaning they wont be back. Characters that have gravestones ingame also rumored to not be back like kazama aswell but someone like ryuji isnt carved in grave or in the memorial so take that as you will lol

Those 3 are the only ones I've noticed but they all "died" in Y3... Dunno why they're bringing back RGG3 bros but all I wanna know is: where in the world is Rikiya Shimabukuro?

Maybe it all shakes out as a scheme by Minamida & Amon clan to bring back Kiryu's strongest enemies c.2009 and then they wandered off or something.

Yep. Also, Sawashiro did not kill the patriarch. Saejima never killed those 18 men. Kiryu did not die at the end of 2, 5, 6 and 8. I said it in another thread, but this is a really clumsy implementation of retconning and the "unreliable narrator". You can do that once or twice, but at some point, a death, even on-screen, does not carry any emotional weight anymore because you simply don't trust the narrator anymore.

The Yakuza games never took themselves too seriously, that includes a lot of story beats. They ham up the melodrama to 11 for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles.

Yep I view the Yakuza/Like a Dragon games in the same way you would a soap opera, hell the series even has a lot of the same tropes in it.

same lol. I never once treat it like real life or anything and when I do, I remind myself that it's a game or approach it like an Anime. It's suppose to be insane.
