Sad this game has a level check
Fighting the former heads of clans in a certain chapter. It's overpowered and cheap. Never played another game like this that forces you to level and wastes your time lol

I'm assuming you played Yakuza Like a Dragon right? Which has the same exact thing. In fact most turn based RPG games have "level check" bosses. So you either are very new to the turn based RPGs, you're bluffing, or you just always power level unintentionally and this is the one time you didn't.

It could also be a gear issue. Having lower star gear weapons and armor could be an issue

Are you new to RPGs? In role playing games where character stats are increased significantly by leveling up and updating equipment, attempting to rush though the game blind invariably runs the risk of getting brick-walled later on. Infinite Wealth at least has the courtesy to recommend a character and equipment level for the main story so you won't get trapped in a story important battle you can't win or escape from without warning - which would be an actual cause for complaint.

yes new to RPGs. Either level up or have better gear/strat
I don't agree with what you have to say, but I love your name!

This game may have a level check sure, but that level check is VERY low as RPGs go. Considering how the majority of your important stats will come from gear, which is almost exclusively purchased or crafted, with the way you obtain huge money being entirely separate from combat, it is very easy to over-gear to the point the game gets trivialised.

Now, if you ignore side content entirely and you do just the main story and avoid all combat outside of that, then yeah. You'll hit a wall. If you're playing the game like that though, why on earth are you even playing the series in general. They've always been like that. 7 and 8 moreso, but 7 and 8 are turn based RPGs. Kinda comes with the genre. Definitely present in the rest of the series though. Just look at how many people try and rush through K1 and end up with the boss healing repeatedly because they never bothered to do the content that unlocks the counter to that.

Knowledge is power, and that's a fact. Know your enemy, right? And also know where to find the counters to your enemy's abilities.

Ignorance is bliss... until you get involved in a life-or-death situation. And then you have eternal bliss in the Kingdom of Heaven.

It is more like you have to actively ignore every single piece of side content to end up in that situation.

How exactly is it any different from the games that Kiryu was the MC or in the Judgement games..............do you not fight lots of random battles because you will eventually have an option to increase your health, gain new abilities, and get new gear/clothes so you can fight harder enemies and bosses?

In it's own way, that's like leveling up as well.

I don't disagree. Scouting, recon, and such, is how you find side content and the knowledge that is power. By looking at the map that the game conveniently provides for you with all the little side content markers. Or by opening your eyes and spotting the obvious NPCs with magical floating sprites over their heads. Or even by running around randomly collecting randomly respawning loot.

Getting lost in the wilderness is a wonderful learning experience and everyone should do it at least once in their life. Even if it's virtual, urban wilderness.
