Can anyone think of an example form a previous game? I cant, but then again sometimes my memory is addlepated by alcohol and age.
Ugh. some of the later stuff is pretty good (MP recover at start of turn/end of combat) would have been nice to know that I was meant to just spend all my fortunes on that and every other item as they came in the early chapter and levels.. some of the early stuff might have been useful at those levels. :/
I would even assume they put extra fortunes there to prompt you to buy the bat because you have extra so its no risk, then you'll see how it works.
I can't even remember what my gear was exactly back then, but I know I hovered over that thing and immediately saw like -15 or whatever attack power so didn't bother with it. I guess buying/finding a better weapon prior to this ruined the whole fortune trader mechanic for a lot of us.
Eventually I had so many points saved up I decided to just buy the dumb thing anyway, at which point he got another item and I realized how it worked. Would have been nice if it had been explained.
