Job Stats?
You keep all stat points gained from jobs permanently right? Seemed like that's what the game said. So if even switched jobs you still kept the stats gained per level with them.
Or did i miss understand that?

only the ones noted in the skills list, stuff like "hp +10" which you get every 5 ranks

Once you raise your friend links, you'll open up more slots and in those slots you can use any skills from any job. Although iirc, you only get 5 skill slots and one Heat Action slot. So get that Cutlery Crash from the Chef job asap. and once you unlock the last Heat Action, have one of the girls always have the geomancer once which heals everyone and removes all negative effects.
Game is very easy anyway so there is no mechanics/stats you really need to think to hard about.

It´s a lot of fun to do IMO but don´t worry about it, it´s not very complicated.
it´s impossible to mess up.
Switch classes all you want and try them out.
Level all the classes on every character or use the starting one they come with for the entire game.
Basically you can choose jobs based of what animations you like.
There´s a bit of room for optimization as to what job skills you inherit but if you grind out the "dungeons" a bit for materials you can level jobs really fast at the same time so anything you are not happy with skill wise is easy to sort while improving your gear at the same time.

As long as you have strong gear on the characters I think the difference between a theoretical "optimal" build party and a random tossed together one is not huge.

TLDR, don´t worry about those stats ;)

Thanks for advice after diving in further that geomancer skill will be real handy.

Yeah get how it all works thanks, though disagree on it being easy. When Can be hit with high level enemies can do massive damage. If under leveled along with debuffs and some even calling in back up endlessly. Clearing most of everything on the map after getting the hero request on chapter 8. Starting at lvl 28 with enemies average 30-32-36 to 40. While also constantly switching and leveling new jobs. While also using most slot for job and experience boost instead of battle beneficial items. Tbh it was a rough ride clearing everything on there. Collecting all of Kiryu nostalgia, defending people and the relationship conversations. With some pretty tough boss enemies surrounding some of Kiryu nostalgia points. One battle the nearly charmed all my guys nearly wiping me there and then. Another the lackeys during a boss battle. Kept calling back up while I was just chipping them away little by little.
Actually never played a Yukaza game this challenging not sure if even remember dying once in the other games. Before like a dragon.

I wouldn't really call that "difficulty" lol. The game just has a weird automatic scaling when it comes to being underleveled compared to LAD. All that really matters is the colour above the enemies' head. You can be 1 level below turning them from pink to red, which is a tiny difference in stats but both the effect on the damage you deal and damage the enemies deal on you is insane compared to where they should be. Of course, technically being 1 level before turning them from red to blue is just as annoying since on normal mobs you can just instantly win fights. So long as enemies are red or blue in this one you don't have much to worry about. Worst case scenario, you get bored because you didn't upgrade your weapon enough and dmg is pitiful.

I had more issues with LAD "difficulty" than I did in this game simply because of the massive difficulty spikes and lack of ability to really level outside of cheesing that 1 enemy. Even then LAD required a lot more strategy and planning than this one. I quickly learned that sure I can try to use buffs/ debuffs/whatever in this game but it's actually faster to just win. I barely used consumables/items in this game, while in LAD it was required.

In past Yakuza games all you really needed was either being good at the game, abuse a few cheese strats or buy items/consumables/whatever to ensure the win. Personally, I always grinded in those games anyway but I know that without those grinds and being underleveled/not unlocking tigerdrop I'd struggle even on normal mode, let alone the higher difficulties.

Have done some extra grinding and been keeping gear decent. With upgrades and what not. When first started and for a while threw they were all red and purple. Yeah blue can be cleared instantly but it was rough pushing through those levels. To get to that point, constantly switching through jobs likely made it harder for me.

From what I remember, I didn't grind all that much until about 60% of the way through or a bit before unlocking the 2nd dungeon. I did take the game VERY slowly though. Mainly focusing on minigames. I somehow managed to be around the recommended level (Within a 1 level difference higher or lower) for the main story. In terms of gear, I was usually not up to date in that, until around chapter 4/5 and I beat the island mini game and just bought a bunch of 6 star clothes in Hawaii (Not shoes or hats). Outside of that, I tended to be behind in gear, especially weapons. I basically jumped from whatever I managed to find through pickups (3-5 star weapons and no upgrades) to 6-7 star weapons. Honestly, the game gives u a lot of what you need to stay within the recommended gear levels. I didn't switch too much between jobs in-comparison to you but it wouldn't have made a difference since for most of my play through permanent stats between jobs were bugged. At most I had every character with 3-4 jobs a bit leveled if you include their base job.

Think everyone was around 28 after switching to Kiryu in Ch 8. Although not sure if that was default or was based off Ishiban's level and team. Which I think was around 32.

The levels where people join ur party are the default levels and are where the game thinks you should be at that point in time.

That explains why I've been wrecking face ever since around when a certain white-haired guy joined the party late in the game. He was like four levels below everyone else in the party and right around that time was when I started just beasting on everything lol
