PC or PS5
I known asking here is like going to church and asking if god exists, but still.
I've got all the series on playstation but I don't know which performance is better in Infinite Wealth.
Any of you got a comparison or a friend that owns this on console?
Performance and perhaps other aspects?

Much appreciated.
I've been torn for 2 weeks now. google isn't much help.

PS5 version is locked at 4K 60, there's no graphics or performance mode and it can't keep 60 all the time especially with lots of NPCs on screen.

PC version runs decently enough, although, it should really run better considering the graphics, but being able to tune the settings to get a smooth 60/120/144fps makes it the winner for me.

PC performance is about as good as it can get, 0 crashes, and only a few cutscene frame drops in 125 hours, everything loads near instnatly. I dont get why people want above 60 fps in an RPG game anyways I have it locked to 60, never seen it dip.

Considering that they say 2080 super compares to PS5 performance, you are probably still right.

Apart from Ryu Ga Gottoku in this generation he did not feel like updating the Dragon Engine to the new generation as he did with the previous one in the 0 and Kiwami engines so you will have the same game on PS4, PS5 or PC the only thing that will change is the performance and the 4K or fps

If you have a 3060 (non-ti) or worse, probably just stick with PS5. Otherwise maybe it's time to make the switch. PS5 was drastically outclassed by PC on its day of launch and that will never not be the case for consoles ever again. You'll be switching eventually. Within one more gen or so, Sony will just make their own PC-based Gamepass ripoff and the PS6 or PS7 will be a Steamdeck knockoff.

In any case, it is still a previous generation game without any improvement compared to PS4, with better graphics you only increase performance and resolution but nothing more

The answer is Steam Deck.

I actually hate my steam deck and I wish I never got it. But that's off topic.

I'd consider PC version if only for the mods. I'm a big fan of some of the costume mods available. Not crazy or immersion breaking, but simply just letting you use more of the models that aren't available for use as costumes(like some substory specific outfits for Ichi) or bringing back costumes from 7.

Good reason. I've never modded Yakuza before. Thanks :)

Unfortunately I bought both. I got up to chapter 11 with ps5 until restarting from scratch at chapter 1 on pc. I didn't mind the grind. Ugh

It's going to merge at some point. They'll just have a sony branded PC that is geared toward mainly playing games with it likely being modular. I think Xbox is already planning a modular PC for its next xbox, so you can keep up with all the new gear. and frankly, a PC designed specifically for playing games will out perform what we have now. Unless ofc, Linux can get native dev support. I don't think there will be much difference between console and pc next gen.

This is just not true, when the PS5 luanched the best GPU on the market was the RTX 2080 and the best CPU was the R7 5950X.

PS5 laucnhed with a 2070 Super quality GPU and a CPU which was basically a 3800X.

It was comparable to a pretty high end PC on launch.

This will never happen for 2 reasons:

1. The people who buy consoles don't want a PC, if they wanted to play on Max graphics at 200 FPS and put up with all the setup that comes with a PC they would buy a PC. What they want it to come home from work, press a button on a controller and have a couple of games of CoD or whatever.

2. Consoles are loss leaders, no one except maybe Nintendo make money on consoles. Sony, Microsoft, they don't want to sell consoles, they want to sell games, the console is just a tool to get their software in your home, why would they spend money designing more elaborate consoles when it'll only cost them more money in the end.

It wouldnt be elaborate, it would be simplified to do just what you said. But they wouldnt have any overhead on the parts. Its not about walled gardens, but a simplified machine to host modern hardware, then none of your specs are really up to them, only casings and software. PCs are intimidating for some peoole, making them easier is, imo, the future of consoles for all the reasons you listed and more.
