Am I weird or is this game's main story more unintentionally funny than the other Yakuza games? (Spoilers)

I've been taking this game VERY slowly. I think I'm at 80 hours and only at chapter 10 but the main story's writing just has so many moments that I'm finding funnier than it should be. Sure past Yakuza games had 1 or 2 moments like Yakuza 0's Kiryu leaving Nikishi in the middle of nowhere or in Kiwami Kiryu just ignoring Majima taking a bullet for him and falling in the ocean.

Some notable examples:

Kiryu getting cancer - a sad moment but a bit goofy considering that he's pouring his heart out to Ichiban and some guy he just met a few hours ago. Somewhat understandable given his circumstances. That's not the part that made me laugh. The flash back happens and they had to make up this grandiose reason that might explain why Kiryu got cancer.

Ichiban making it to the USA with just a metal bat, a little money and clothes. Kinda funny to me but with my head cannon it got hilarious because Ichiban made it to the USA with a metal bat, a comically large "massager" that he's just swinging at people and a backpack full of Japanese convenience store food.

Perry the Platypus moment:
Ichiban: Kiryu you look different.
Kiryu: Takes off his sungalsses* How about now?
Ichiban: That's the Kiryu I know!

Ichiban canonically disappearing for 3 days and everyone just accepting his reasoning. Good ol' Ichiban's crazy rambling.

Kiryu's outfit in Hawaii, especially on the beach. Kiryu has canonically worn other things than dress clothes before.

Chitose just knocking a man out of his wheel chair. Pretty funny in the moment.

Jiryu just nonchalantly talking to Ichiban on video call surrounded by knocked out goons. Ichiban explaining what had happened and then showing Jiryu the dead bodies in the call as if Kiryu needed to see. Then after the cutscene the cheesy reminiscing music turns on and Jiryu is just "remembering" his handler who died 5 minutes ago. The body is still warm Jiryu!

But it's funny in a way that it doesn't ruin the story
