Is the rainbow achievement bugged?

I took a few photos on the beach of the rainbow in Chapter 9 and for some reason it didn't count.

Is there anything specific for the requirements for it? Am I missing something

When the achievement popped for me, I took the picture at the dock at the northmost coastline of Honolulu. I aimed it towards the buildings across the water, and it counted first try.

Did it on Aloha Beach, far right end. Rainbow appears shortly after rain (rain seemed to be random).

The rain is definitely random, but you can tell when it's coming if you look at the clouds coming. I idled at Aloha Beach until the rainbow appeared.

I did it outside of the south side of the Anaconda Shopping Center, by the two NPCs that talk about the rainbow. I'm pretty sure that's where you're meant to do it from, though there's been folks saying they did it elsewhere. I think the key thing is that the rainbow has to be the center of the photo, and you might have to zoom in to get it framed properly.

I didn't know there was an achievement for it, personally. I just pay attention to details all over the place as I play the game, and since they mentioned it, I thought there might be an interaction there. I took a photo of it, didn't get the achievement, tried to show them the photo, nothing happened, so I waited for it to rain again, took a better picture (I zoomed in), thinking maybe what I did wasn't good enough, and I got the achievement.

Sadly, they still don't react to you having a legit photo of the rainbow as proof it exists.

I have the game on my PS, but I was just wondering, did anyone get it after completing the story? I've had a few squalls during the story, but never knew about this achievement, only after I looked up the hidden trophy I had left but the squalls just aren't happening post story. Do they even occur? How random are they?

I did. Like you, I had no idea that it even was an achievement until I looked it up. I just ran around Hawaii for a bit and eventually it started raining. Then I went to the eastern end of Aloha Beach and once the rain stopped, I took the photo. Achievement popped just fine. Did that here on Steam about 24 hours ago.
