So why was it called 'Infinite Wealth?'
Jokes about their terrible DLC practices aside, I just finished the game today and still have no idea why they called it Infinite Wealth. The closest I could think of is either something relating to the villains' international scheme or the usual jrpg moral that the real infinite wealth was the friends we made along the way.

I think it's a mix of the second one combined with the fact that the infinity symbol looks like an 8.

it's ichiban and kiryu's bonds with their friends and loved ones.

The real wealth was the friends we made along the way.

And the boss we gold fingered. But that's for another story

I don't think there's any meaning to it beyond somebody at Sega thinking it sounds cool.

I guess I assume more out of the studio. I mean, I know Yakuza: Like A Dragon merged the eastern and western titles (which I only realized, while typing this, would be better for an East meets West game like Infinite Wealth), but the title still worked thematically for Kasuga's character arc and personality.

I guess the real Infinite Wealth really were the friends we made a long the way to chemotherapy.

I'll have to listen to it again. Despite the lyrics flashing in the screen I was paying attention to the visuals more than the lyrics (though I'm very good at letting lyrics just wash over me without paying attention to them in general).

My guess is that in East Asian cultures, the number 8 represents luckiness/wealth

I knew it was in China, didn't realise it was more wide spread interesting.

It's literally because someone high up in the dev team said the name meant something to them and had it, and asked the players to find their own meaning in it.

Power of friendship.

Standard JRPG trope.

Also related to Kiryu discovering team sports.
