To the best of my knowledge, no, there is not.
Ichi gets an absolute game breaker of a special attack if you finish that thingie. One of those "hits everything for huge damage" sorts of attacks.
But if what you care about is the story, I don't think it changes at all based on how much you do that island stuff.
Does the game actually account for multihits this time around?

I'm not entirely sure that I understand the context of the question but...
This attack was one of those "I am SO done with/don't have time for this" sort of attacks. My man Kiryu gets a similar sort of attack, but it has a fire element to it.
Ichi's Doki island thingie just....erases non bosses because it is non-elemental damage. Like if you just want to hurry your way through dungeons, stock up on MP replenishing stuff and maybe some agility boosters and just let him end every combat with it.
It is honestly like an instant "yeah, we're done here" button for non-boss fights.
