Improve Steam Deck Performance Please

Im happy with how the game runs mostly but in Hawaii there are drops in traversal while moving around town. Could they be mitigated? Im using the recommended defautl settings

Ask Sega to remove Denuvo.

My experience with Steam Deck has been great so far. Set your FPS and refresh to 40 on the Deck itself, then lower some settings in game. I didnt change much, the default was pretty good.

I did that, but in hawaii you will see drops while quickly moving acoss the maps. traversal stutters as another part of the map loads most likely

The same occurs on lower end PCs, its just a problem with the Hawaii map specifically. Take the normal measures of reducing any particularly taxing processes in the graphics menu.

The only setting I changed from the default was shadows.

Steam Deck set to 40 FPS, since it the OLED version the refresh is set to 80 but I am pretty sure it is actually 40 in practice due to vsync. The LCD version will allow you to set the refresh rate to 40. People refer to this as the golden 40 and it works.

With these settings, any slowdown or stuttering is minimal.

But the marginal increase in performance with the OLED over the LCD Steam Deck might be making a difference. I gave away my LCD Steam Deck, so I cant test that.
