Sujimancer: Good for lategame or just...meh?
I got all the Kiwami summons (through savescumming) but it still feels...lacking? The damage is ok at best but the healing abilities are weird to land.

To be fair the rank that i have with it is low (20) but i wanna know if it become better and viable for Endgame or it's just a gimmicky class

It's pretty damn gimmicky and you're better off speccing Ichi into other classes or leveling up his personality stats to strengthen his hero class skills.

The most I can say otherwise is that blitzing Sujimon once you get the entire Hawaii map opened up isn't hard and I'd encourage it in order to make the class actually good if you want to stick with it.

I feel like it's only worth when you obtain the Kiwami rare Sujimon (which are obtained after you finish after all the Sujimon substories), other than that, it's pretty meh.

Sadly, you can't even use the job's skills for skill inheritance if you wanna swap to your preferred job for Ichi.

It's a pretty mediocre class, which is a shame considering how unique it is. I like summoner-type classes but I can't really justify using it in this game. It's alright once you get top tier Sujimons, but it requires far too much investment for such middling gains.

Honestly, just like in Yakuza: Like A Dragon, the Hero class is the only Ichiban-exclusive class I would consider to be great. Freelancer still can't compare to the sheer versatility of the Hero class while as mentioned previously, Sujimon is just mediocre.

Ah, that's a shame then :\
I already have all the Kiwami summons and i was hoping that it was just a rank issue

if he has higher magic you can probably fix his attack numbers by using the seal that makes attacks function off of magic instead of attack. Was going to fiddle with the sujimancer soon to see how good it is late game.

Mostly because i'm pretty sure all classes do more or less fine end game (even is some are "best")

Seals won't work because Sujimancer uses fists. Probably why it's such a mess of a job in the first place

gotcha my mistake, i've never swapped to it after unlocking it as i've been busy with other classes

I never bothered with it. I just specced ichiban to an aquanaut until I got far enough for hero to be more useful. Plus carrying over some of the aquanauts magic attack aoes for hero helps out

it's pretty mediocre unfortunately. it can do OK damage if you get really good sujimons but ultimately you are better served by allowing an actual magic character do magic things rather than having Kasuga do it, it's too much effort for middling return.

I spent all the way to chapter 9 with it.....and really had this moment of clarity in some tougher fights in dungeons that this job really is kinda crappy compared to other jobs.

Hero is the best for ichiban.

Desperado is the most solid "attack job" pick for anybody overall.

Soul capture is the most useful inherited skill for any "attack job". It hits hard and you receive hp at the same time. Soul capture is originally on the pyrodancer job.

After a retry, i think i've understand why that class performed poorly.

It's also VERY rank dependent.
A normal class gets like 1-2 points per level. This class can get up to 11 POINTS per level...so yeah, it's a class that in reality it can become really good, BUT you need way much work lol

It's decent if you've got good Sujimon, but not worth it in the long term. I had fun leveling it up for a while thinking it was a great class, but once I switched back to hero I noticed a huge difference combatwise.

The two things keeping it back, other than needing to grind out the sujimon minigame, is that the abilities have garbage aoe, and no weapon to scale off of. The lack of brands make a huge difference late game. You can get much better mileage from using a better class with a good set of inherited skills.

yeah at about level 40 or so it finally became about as good as any other class, but I was using maxed out Kiwami and the final character you get for beating the main game. All maxed, all awakened to their highest levels. Since no weapon, the buddy attacks take a huge hit. Not that there is really anything in this game or its DLC that really poses much of a challenge, which is a shame. So, yes it's definitely viable if you ran through the entire story with it.

I guess it as much. It's around that level where you get on par with the 7* Weapons on other classes
