If I quit spikeout, do I have to restart from stage 1 again?
Trying to get the achievements for spikeout but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the game is boring and stupid a.f and it is hurting my fingers mashing the same buttons nonstop. I can quit and get back the the latest stage or do I have to restart from stage 1 if I quit?

i was thinking the dev playtest a 1998 outdated arcade game and finds that mashing the same button for 1hour is not only not fun but hurts your hand so they implement stage selections to improve the game

Yeah, you have to endure through it, there's no other way.

By the way since you're doing arcade achievements, can you tell me how it went for you in Sega Bass Fishing? I played the version sold on Steam and I swear it was nowhere near as hard to catch big ones, hell I couldn't catch a single one in the castle stage.

The way I did it was using one of the shallow lures (pencil bait at first, then similar ones that unlocked), cast it as close as possible where there were fish (using rocks or such to get less distance towards me).
For luring, I just tapped the right trigger a bit till I got fish attention, then let it get hooked.
After hooking, I kept just wiggling the left stick randomly (unless game told me to move rod specific way, then I did that, then continued to wiggle randomly) while continuously tapping the right trigger anytime the tension wasn't in the red. I ignored all the animation, just looked at the tension meter and the meter distance and I just kept snagging fish after fish after fish. Still took a few credits to clear but I finished the whole thing in one sitting quickly that way. Hope it helps.

My problem is that line breaks instantly the moment it bites. Like... INSTANTLY instantly, its unreactable. Catching tuna in Y3 felt easier than this.

This was my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ problem. If you do 3 stages, you go to a 4th one where all fish are at record sizes. Lines break instantly if you try to reel it in and move the rod. This was the most annoying part.

The trick I found was to NOT use the left stick, and slowly tap the reel button. Wait for the game to tell you WHERE to pull the rod at, then start following the fish movements while keeping the slow reeling rhythm. Closer you bait the fish, the shorter this process become. This method is how I consistently reel in record breaking fish.

This should work on bigger size fishes too. Small and average you should be able to just brute force them.

I'll have to remember this, I also made a mistake and said that "Big Ones" are impossible for me. They're not, Huge is the one I had trouble with, all other sizes felt normal.
